Cebuano sensation Z “The Dream” Gorres will face another opponent in the undercard of the Manny Pacquiao versus Erik Morales “Coming with Everything” superfight on March 19 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. After Jose Navarro replaced Dimitri Kirilov, Gorres will be facing an unnamed opponent in his US debut. “Navarro is not fighting Gorres. He will be replaced and we were told not to reveal the name of his new opponent,” said Gorres’ manager Antonio Lopez Aldeguer. The news came Friday night and Aldeguer had no idea why Navarro, a member of the US 2000 Olympic boxing team, backed out of the fight. One of the reasons could be that Navarro is not yet ready to put his lofty world ranking on the line against Gorres, who is not rated by any of the three major boxing bodies. The botched Gorres-Navarro fight was supposed to be an eliminator bout to determine the challenger to IBF super-flyweight champion Luis Perez of Nicaragua. Gorres is ranked No.4 in the WBO bantamweight class. It could have been a defining moment for the 22-year-old Gorres, who is currently training at Buddy MacGirt’s Gym in Miami, Florida.
